Wellness Advisor was where my entrepreneurial journey in the fitness industry truly began. It wasn’t just about personal training—I built a business that sourced and managed trainers, sold fitness equipment, represented brands as an ambassador, and contributed to leading fitness publications. It was through this multifaceted approach that I established the credibility and network that would lead to some of the most rewarding opportunities of my career

Credibility, Trust, and the Opportunity of a Lifetime

One of the most defining moments of my career came when I was invited to be part of the training team preparing James Cracknell, a two-time Olympic gold medalist, and broadcaster Ben Fogle for their extraordinary Row Across the Atlantic Ocean. Being entrusted to contribute to such a high-profile project was a profound validation of the credibility I had built through years of dedication to my craft.

At the time, I was also working with female Formula 1 drivers at McLaren—a role that demanded exceptional expertise and adaptability. It was my relentless focus on developing my own skillset, coupled with my qualifications and deep understanding of human performance, that positioned me to take on opportunities like these.

With James and Ben, it wasn’t just about being technically skilled. It was about being trusted to collaborate on a program that prepared them physically and mentally for one of the most grueling challenges imaginable. My personality, approachability, and commitment to excellence played a crucial role in earning that trust.

The experience will always stand out as a testament to the reputation I’ve worked hard to build. Being part of their journey—watching two individuals push beyond their limits to achieve something extraordinary—reminded me of why I do what I do. It’s about empowering others to reach their highest potential, and it’s a privilege I never take lightly.

Learning from a Visionary Leader

One of the most impactful collaborations of my career was my work with Duncan Bannatyne, training him while he was filming Dragons’ Den. Being invited to work with someone of Duncan’s stature—a prominent entrepreneur and a trailblazer in the fitness and wellness industry—was an incredible testament to the credibility I had established through years of dedication to my craft.

Duncan’s reputation as a visionary leader in the fitness world preceded him, and stepping into that role as his trainer was both a challenge and an opportunity. It wasn’t just about designing programs or delivering results; it was about earning his trust and demonstrating my ability to contribute to his already exceptional standards of performance and well-being.

What made this experience stand out wasn’t just the privilege of working with a high-profile individual, but the lessons I gained from Duncan himself. As I supported him in his personal wellness journey, he unintentionally became a mentor, offering invaluable insights into the business of fitness and what it takes to succeed as a leader. His ability to balance sharp business acumen with an unwavering commitment to health inspired me to think differently about my own career trajectory—not just as a wellness expert, but as a future leader in business.

Those moments on set, learning from Duncan and seeing his vision in action, planted seeds that have shaped my own approach to leadership and entrepreneurship. Working with someone of his caliber was a powerful reminder that while expertise and qualifications open doors, the real growth comes from being willing to learn and adapt alongside the best.
